“On The Run” Beyonce and Jay-Z Inspired E-Session: Angelique + Marcus

Today’s e-session is a perfect combination of sexiness and class!  Angelique and Marcus met in 2008 and were engaged 6 years later on Valentine’s Day! They decided to celebrate their union, with a hot e-session that mixed modern and traditional elements. Their first look was all about chic elegance; the couple’s sophisticated black formal attire was juxtaposed beautifully against their rustic setting at Shelby Farms in Tennessee.

Their second look showcased the couples adventurous and fun side in a Bonnie and Clyde, Beyonce and Jay-Z ,“On the Run” inspired shoot!  Angelique shares, “I wore a vintage wedding gown with motorcycle riding boots. I styled Marcus in a black leather jacket, destroyed black denim pants, and black riding boots. We used our Harley Davidson Night Rider during the session. It was SO not traditional and we had fun during the entire session!” The couple then used their gorgeous photos captured by Amy Hutchinson Photography to create unique Save the Dates, that look like VIP Tour Passes.  Their love will definitely take center stage in their summer wedding planned by Andria Lewis Events .

How They Met

I met Marcus in 2008 at a social outing at the Fedex Forum (Memphis, TN). I had heard through friends that he was interested, but I never gave him the time of day. That was because I hadn’t seen him and I was against blind dates. We laid eyes on each other that night and it literally felt like the room stood still. We dated for almost a year and then decided to pursue our careers. We would see each other randomly from time to time. It was at an event 2010 we saw each other and decided, this time, we would never let go.

 The Proposal 

Marcus proposed to me at our apartment on Valentine’s Day 2014. He purposely made me feel like he forgot about Valentine’s Day. We went to the movies, just like any other day. When we came home the entire apartment was decorated like a cruise ship! It was so romantic because that was our first date in 2010, where he asked me to be his girlfriend. He wanted to bring the cruise to me. I couldn’t ask for anything better. We had candle light dinner and afterwards he got one knee!

 The Engagement Session

Our engagement session was at Shelby Farms. We love that park because Mother Nature is the stage. The theme for our engagement shoot is like our love, Bonnie and Clyde, On the Run Jay Z and Beyoncé. 

 Their First Date

On our first date we went to Chicago to the Navy Pier. We took a three hour boat cruise on Lake Michigan. We did a lot of sight seeing and dancing. It was one the best times of my life.

Wedding Planning

Wedding planning has been good. I have an awesome planner, Andria Lewis, who handles everything. I have to be honest, excitement gets in my way sometimes, but she brings everything we want to life. She keeps everything organized, which makes my job less stressful!

Looking Forward to the Wedding 

 My fiancé and I are looking forward to 3 things! Centerpieces, Cake and (my wedding planner won’t let me tell the third thing)
