Sandy and Kareem’s Regal Fairytale Engagement in Boca Raton

That first encounter left an impression that would stay with them until they crossed paths a few months later – this time making sure to exchange numbers. Their first date at a local restaurant held a tangible, magnetic atmosphere – leading to their first kiss by the end of the evening.

Tell us how you met and all about the proposal. Kareem and Sandy met in November of 2013 at a fashion show at the University they both attended. What was a brief interaction between the two definitely stuck with the both of them until they met again a few months later. They later exchanged numbers and the rest is history! Kareem and Sandy are honestly the best of friends. They have a lot of things in common, such as juicing, photography (him) and modeling (her) so he often uses Sandy as his muse, which she doesn’t mind at all!
Kareem proposed to Sandy at her ‘Coming to America” themed 30th Birthday celebration. Kareem had his friend who is a spoken word poet, Bradley a.k.a Logical Era, recite a poem on life and love. When Bradley got to speaking about love he stated, “I know someone who knows a little bit more about love than I do” and then pops out Kareem to finish off the poem. Kareem had a very heartfelt speech about their journey to love and God which brought everyone to tears!

Describe your engagement session. Kareem and Sandy’s wedding theme came from a funny title that their friends have given them throughout their relationship, “Beauty and The Bald” which is also one of their wedding hashtags. Kareem and Sandy wanted to create a regal themed, fairytale engagement shoot to match their vision for their wedding. The engagement session was at The Boca Resort & Club, which was Sandy’s dream location. Sandy’s father who passed away almost 6 years ago worked at the Boca Resort for over 25 years and she felt that having the shoot at the resort would make her feel that her dad was there with her during this important time in her life. The entire resort staff was nothing but accommodating to having them there which made the whole experience a dream come true!

What did you do on your first date? Kareem and Sandy had dinner at a local restaurant for their first “date.” Sandy insisted on keeping it very casual attempting to keep Kareem in the friend-zone, which failed miserably! The couple ended their first date with their first kiss.

What’s your favorite thing to do as a couple? Kareem and Sandy spend a lot of time together. They love going to farmers markets to look for local produce for their juicing craze! Watching movies and their favorite TV shows that they can never watch apart (That’s a big no no!). They also love to travel and plan to spend the rest of their lives visiting as many cities across the world as they can.

How has wedding planning been so far? So far wedding planning has been pretty stress free. Kareem and Sandy spoke about certain things prior to getting married so right after the proposal a lot of vendors were immediately booked, like the DJ and Photographer. The most stressful part has been the guest list. Both Kareem and Sandy have big families and were very involved in college so they have a lot of close friends that they want to be a part of their special day.

Tell us what you’re looking forward to most on the wedding day. The couple is really looking forward to making their union official in front of God and their loved ones. They want to make sure they enjoy every minute of their day by dancing and living their best lives with the people they love the most!
