“Sarah and Samuel’s elegant Toronto wedding was both contemporary and classic with a royal setting at Casa Loma Castle – complete with elements of Nigerian culture. The bride was stunning in a custom made timeless ball gown with hand -beaded embroidery and cathedral length veil. The beautiful banquet hall reception began with cocktail hour, followed by the first dance to Ed Sheeran’s “Perfect” and “Thinking Out Loud,” the cake cutting, speeches, and a sit-down three-course dinner.”

Bride & Groom: Sarah and Samuel
Wedding Location: Toronto, Canada
Wedding Date: June 25th 2017
The story…
Samuel: “It was a lonely Norwegian winter evening In November 2010, I was browsing through my Facebook timeline when I stumbled on a graduation picture of a young lady holding a bouquet on one hand and hugging her proud mum with the other. I noticed her dimples and the happy smile on their faces. I liked what I saw (dimples and success) and decided to approach, however, with caution. I sent her a friend request, which was graciously accepted the following day.”
Sarah: “Sam added (stalked) me on Facebook via a mutual friend’s page. I couldn’t help but notice his many faces, literally. When you look at 4 pictures of him, you almost see 4 different people, lol. We re-connected and started talking in June 2014. We immediately became very good friends and talked almost every day. I met him for the first time in August 2014. I remember a very shy big guy, hiding behind his friend, as he walked towards my car. To his credit, he put his best foot…”
Samuel: “One evening in June 2014, she messaged me out of the blue. I was excited to hear from her after a long time. I asked her out three weeks into our rekindled friendship. I visited Toronto two months later and I must say she is a rare combination of beauty, brains, character and class. Our expensive transatlantic relationship was filled with fun, bliss and some exciting drama. We are similar in many ways but differ in few. Over the years, we have learned to consolidate on our similarities and respect the differences. Sarah is kind, honest, strong-willed (a fancy word for stubborn) and most importantly God-fearing. Her sacrifices and selflessness have made our relationship blossom into maturity. Marrying her is the proudest decision I ever made.”
Sarah: “He has made my smile bigger and my laugh a little louder. Knowing and growing closer to him has been life changing. He is intelligent, generous to a fault, God-fearing and most importantly, romantic. He once showed up at my doorstep unannounced all the way from Europe. That’s got to be one of my happiest days. He is everything I have ever wanted or wished for.”
The proposal…
Samuel: “We were in the French Riviera for her birthday, May 14, 2016. After a long road trip, we had a lovely dinner and headed to our hotel room in Marseille. Just before we went to bed, I got on one knee and asked my love to spend the rest of her life with me. She was startled. She became ‘teary-eyed’ as she gave the happy ‘affirmative nod.’ I have never seen her happier. It was a beautiful, intimate and happy moment we will relish for the rest of our lives.”
Sarah: “Saying yes to Sam was one of the easiest decisions I ever had to make. The love of my life went on bended knee on my birthday to reel off many reasons why he was sure I was the one for him. My best friend looked into my eyes and asked me to help him mark many more milestones on his pathway through life. What started off as a birthday getaway for me turned out to be the night that marked the beginning of our beautiful journey to become man and wife.”

Advice for Engaged Couples: “This day is yours and you only get one chance to get everything you want, so make sure you do just that. If there is anything you want or need, make it happen. You will most likely get a lot of recommendations and advice from your family and friends, but prioritize yours needs and preferences. Always stick to your gut.
Most importantly, PRAY. Keeping God involved will only make your process easier. Also, don’t forget to have fun and enjoy every moment of the day. Finally, hire Stanley Babb as your photographer. He will make your event memories eternal.”
