You will instantly know that a man really loves a woman by the way he looks at her. A truly happy couple takes advantage of endearing embraces when ever they get the chance. And you if you are lucky, you just might catch those unnoticed endearing glances that one gives the other. Love is that feeling that cannot be described comprehensively. You just…feel it and you know it!
Jessica and Vincent’s wedding was one to remember. Our magnificent Coterie member, F&G Weddings, planned this stunning affair! It was sensual, sophisticate, and classic. The historic Biltmore Hotel Ballroom was flooded with eye-catching and jaw dropping soft hues of pink. Edge Design Group decorated the room from start to finish! Lavish draped pink fabric, an enchanting floral arrangement of pink and white flowers framing their elaborate cake, and luxurious decor that completed the essence of this timeless wedding! The photography, planning, music, and everyone involved, helped made Jessica and Vincent’s big day a success!

Tell us about how you met and all about the proposal!
“We both went to Tennessee State University! We met by chance when sitting next to each other in class. Soon, one or two classes turned into many together. As classmates, we always worked on assignments and projects together as a team. We started meeting up for lunch almost every day and before we knew it, we spent the majority of our time with each other.”
“When graduation rolled around that December, we realized that we would not be seeing one another every day. He was moving back to Atlanta and I was looking for jobs along the east coast. However Vincent invited me to travel to Atlanta to attend his graduation party.” Feeling anxious about their upcoming separation, Jessica decided to voice stronger feelings for him. “With the twinkle of an eye and flash of a Vincent’s debonair smile, our friendship evolved. To this day, we still believe that was the best Christmas gift either of us could have received.”
“Vincent proposed New Year’s Eve in 2014! It was at the very restaurant in which we had our first date, Fogo de Chão in Atlanta. I remember Vincent sending me to get dolled up for the New Year. I really wasn’t feeling up to all the pampering, but I went along with it anyway. Vincent’s cousins joined us for dinner so it was just the four of us. Anyone who loves Fogo de Chão, loves their house beef. As I began to indulge, Vincent started a discussion about things we are grateful for.
Unbeknownst to me, it was a set-up and Vincent went last. Being overwhelmed by Vincent’s joy being centered on me, I didn’t realize that he was on one knee. I felt as if I was having an out-of-body experience. I remember him saying: “I don’t want to go into 2014 without knowing you are going to be my wife.”
“I didn’t realize that after that statement he asked if I would marry him. It was as if time stood still. Everything was motionless. There were no sounds of glasses toasting, no chatter, just me and Vincent, for that one second. Needless to say, I came back to reality and said yes!”
“Over the past few years, we’ve learned many life lessons. Especially the lessons that were cultivated in loving hard and praying harder. We are excited to share our journey with the world in hopes of encouraging a deeper, stronger love for the one person that was created just for each of us. We met, we fell in love, and we can’t wait to spend the rest of our lives together!”
Wedding Style
“Dress shopping for me was a breeze! I enjoyed my day. I am very private in regards to shopping. I consider it bonding time with myself. But I knew I needed someone with me so I asked my future sister-in-law to come play dress-up. I tried on maybe three or four dresses, but when I put on the perfect dress I knew beyond the shadow of a doubt it was for me!”
Jessica’s wedding gown was a sherbert ball gown designed by Lazaro Perez. It was a sweetheart neckline with a beautiful sheer elongated Alencon lace corseted bodice! And we cannot forget about the dress’s elaborate one shoulder. Silk chiffon rose gold crystal centers flowers which cascaded down the bodice that gathered into a tulle skirt. And as for the chapel train? Well it was the perfect complement to her Toni Federici veil!
Bridesmaids/Groomsmen Gifts
Bridesmaids- goodie bag with black spa robes, bottle of their favorite wine, crystal earnings for the wedding, and a best friend picture frame. Plus a wedding make-up session with the fabulous Scoobie West.
Groomsmen- embroidered handkerchiefs, custom bow-ties, their favorite whiskey, and a cigar along with a travel cigar humidor.
What was your favorite item on wedding menu?
“EVERYTHING! The food was elevating! Our guests are still raving! From the hors d’oeuvres, the entrée, and the Krispy Kreme doughnut flambéed in a bourbon brown sugar sauce topped with vanilla bean ice cream! I still think about it…everyday.”
What was your first dance song?
It was an old school/new school mash-up of Stevie Wonder’s “As” and Marsha Ambrosius and Anthony Hamilton “As”.
Memories
“My favorite memory was Vincent seeing me for the first time. We decided to do a “first look” before the ceremony. It was a time just for us. It felt so intimate. He was able to look me all over uninterrupted and I checked him out from head to toe. I will never forget that feeling…the awe of him.”
Help a bride-to-be out!
“Relax, breathe, and enjoy every minute leading up to the time you tell your guests farewell. This is one of the only days you will have everyone cater to both of you. They are also going to call your names one-thousand times, so take a moment for yourselves. Love on each other throughout the evening as much as possible. Steal kisses, hold hands, or whatever you do to show affection. Try to make as many visual memories as you can because your day is going to be beautiful!”
To say that this Atlanta wedding was beautiful would be an understatement. It was absolutely mesmerizing to witness the love between Jessica and Vincent. We wish them a long life filled with the best moments and everlasting love!
