Tell us how you met and all about the proposal. In 2004 I was going through a breakup with a previous boyfriend. My friends at the time invited me to a birthday celebration, in which I declined at least 5 times. I was in no mood to be around anyone. As the only person with a car, my friends repeatedly asked, more so pressured, me into going to the birthday party because they needed a ride. I eventually gave in. Once we arrived at the party I was immediately ready to go. I sat at a table and almost immediately I could feel a set of eyes staring at me from across room. I did everything that I could to avoid eye contact. He eventually mustered up the courage to come over and asked my name. He was way too aggressive and I was instantly uninterested. After being persistent, I eventually gave him my telephone number, simply so that he would leave me alone. It’s funny how one telephone call turned into a lasting relationship. Who would’ve thought?
Fast forward 13 years. The proposal took place at a New Year’s Eve celebration in Baltimore, MD in a room filled with family and friends. After the ball dropped, several people went around the room making statements about what they were thankful for. The microphone was passed to Eddie. He began talking about the things that he’s most thankful for and then he focused on me (I was so confused) he eventually said “there’s only one thing left to do” and he proceeded to get down on one knee. The proposal was completely unexpected and absolutely magical.
