Tell us how you met and all about the proposal. Alton and I met in the way most people meet…at our local Sprint Store. He was supposed to fix my phone but he stole my heart instead, and as they say, the rest is history!
For the proposal Alton surprised me on my 28th Birthday! He came to my job with a cake, flowers and balloons, which was not too surprising, however he dropped off the goodies then pretended he had to quickly get back to his office. I kissed him goodbye, turned to face my co-workers and when I turned back around he was on one knee asking me to marry him. I did not realize it then but right before he came to my office he asked my co-worker/“future” bridesmaid, Andrea to film his “surprise.”
What was wedding shopping like for you? I wanted a dress that looked classy with a bit of sex appeal. I also wanted the dress to have a long dramatic train. My life is usually very busy and chaotic. I work full time as an academic advisor, teach first year college students on Saturdays and take graduate classes two night a week so it was imperative that I took advantage of my spring break and used it as my opportunity to find the perfect dress. I started my search on Monday, March 13th 2017 and after three boutiques and trying on about a dozen dresses I found my dream dress on March 17th, 2017.
Did you incorporate any culture into your wedding? I just wanted a sexy but classy timeless wedding. I am low-key, obsessed with classic 50’s pin up looks, so all of that played its part in setting my wedding scene.

What is your best memory from your wedding? One of the best memories from my wedding was when our wedding matri’d recommended I blindfold my fiancé before he searched for my garter, once he was blindfolded I swapped chairs with his best man. He started doing a sexy crawl on the dance floor thinking he was about to caress my thigh, but when he felt a large hand and a large foot he removed the blindfold only to see his best man staring back at him. Alton and our guests could not stop laughing it was absolutely hilarious!
What is the best wedding advice you can give to engaged couples? The best advice I would give to couples is not to sweat the small stuff! Of course planning is essential for any wedding, however, on your big day the only thing that matters is that you are marrying your best friend! So just have F-U-N!
