Sherell and Elijah's Sophisticated Romance Engagement in Birmingham -Munaluchi Bride

Sherell and Elijah’s love story began in late may when after an evening of dancing and drinks Elijah approached Sherell outside of the night club – after admiring her throughout the evening he just had to get to know her better. They exchanged numbers and began dating, making the relationship official that fall.
It was on Christmas evening of 2015 that Elijah decided it was time to demonstrate just how dedicated to Sherell his love is…surrounded by friends and family, in a perfect surprise, Elijah asked Sherell to spend the rest of their lives together as husband and wife.

Tell us how you met and all about the proposal. Elijah and I met in May of 2010 outside of a night club in Birmingham AL. I was walking across the street with one of my best friends and he approached me and asked for my number. We talked a few times and dated on and off for a while. We eventually made it official later that fall.
Our proposal is probably one of the best days of my life. It was Christmas evening of 2015 and I was home in Mississippi for the holiday. My two best friends, parents, and niece were all at home enjoying ourselves like normal. Well I was upset with Elijah because he was supposed to be coming to my house from Alabama to visit me but told me earlier that day that he wasn’t going to make it. Well I was all in the Christmas sprit and enjoying my family. I remember everything happening so fast. My niece brought me a box that was wrapped so pretty and she told me it was for me. I remember saying, “wow I got another gift!” So I opened it and there was a note inside that said “Guess who’s getting married?” I still didn’t get it. I remember saying, “who is this for?” And before I knew it one of my favorite songs by Charlie Wilson, “You Are” was playing in the background. The garage door was going up and Elijah was standing in my parents living room. I remember screaming, “what are you doing here!” Everyone was screaming and clapping. He didn’t answer but got down on one knee and had the most serious look on his face. He talked about how it was time for me to see just how serious he was and how he was ready to spend the rest of his life with me. I screamed so loud when he opened the box and I saw my ring. Apparently, he, my sister and best friend, Miracle, planned everything and everybody knew! Even my parents were in on it. It really was exactly the way I had always dreamt and couldn’t have asked for it to happen any better.

Describe your engagement session. Our engagement session was so much fun and just what I envisioned. I didn’t really a have theme I just wanted things to look lush and modern. Our photographer really brought everything to life. The mansion was his idea and I instantly fell in love with it. He picked the other two sites as well. Everything about it was more than I could have asked for. My planner was also very helpful in the process of assisting me with concepts and deciding on attire. It was a collaborative effort.

How has wedding planning been so far? Well its been challenging but we have a great team. Our wedding planner Joanna Sheppard of Valia Rose Events has been the best. She’s been so patient and so understanding. We couldn’t have done any of this without her.

Tell us what you’re looking forward to most on the wedding day. There are three things I’m looking forward to on my wedding day. I can’t wait to see Elijah’s expression when he sees me in my custom wedding gown. I also can’t wait to party hard with our closest friends and family. But most of all I can’t wait to marry my very bestfriend.
