Bride & Groom: Sneha & Paul
Occupations: Software Designer & Content Producer
Wedding date: April 29,2018
Wedding location: Pecan Springs Ranch—Austin, TX
How did you meet? We lived on the same floor freshman year of college. We started off as friends and eventually started dating by the end of the year.
Tell us about the proposal. The proposal was at Zilker Botanical Garden in Austin but the surprise was flying Sneha’s friends in from all over the country to celebrate.
What was the wedding shopping experience like for you? The wedding shopping experience was wild because we were on the streets of Delhi in India looking for fabric for a dress. It took about an hour to find Paul’s outfit and about three days to find Sneha’s. We wore traditional Indian clothing for the ceremony and more Americanized clothing at night that was almost entirely blue.
Did you incorporate any culture into your wedding? We incorporated a good deal of culture into the wedding, having a “modern” Indian ceremony. While we kept many of the traditional aspects, we wanted to update some of the customs to reflect our current lifestyles.
Wedding Party Gifts: I gave my bridesmaids a bottle of mini Moët, hand lettered champagne glasses, robes, their ceremony saris, earrings, and bangles. I gave my groomsmen their favorite alcohol, their ceremony tie, and socks.
Gifts for each other: Our love!
Ceremony entrance song: Classical Indian music
First dance song: “I Love You” by Climax Blues Band
What is your best memory from your wedding? I would say dancing in the middle of all our friends and everyone we love so much.
What is the best wedding advice you can give to engaged couples? Enjoy the day, it goes too fast!
