Before their first date, Corbin came down with the stomach flu, but not wanting to seem flaky, she still went on the date. She raised no suspicions of her illness and managed to get through an all-you-can-eat Brazillian BBQ lunch and then talked and walked with Jasson at the LACMA for two hours before finally admitting she was sick. Jasson, who had no idea she was under the weather, was surprised and thought “She really is an actress.”
For six years, they built a life in LA together, traveling internationally and exploring California’s nature.
Over their six years together, the two have built a home in Los Angeles, explored many a cabin in the California woods, and traveled internationally to Italy, France, London, Montreal, Mexico, and Jamaica. The two share a love of music especially at their favorite venue, The Hollywood Bowl.

Corbin and Jasson both love the winter holidays. Despite the pandemic, Jasson was determined to keep his promise to Corbin and celebrate in her hometown of Minneapolis. On the morning of Christmas Eve, Corbin walked out on the porch of their Airbnb to find a caroler singing John Legend’s “So High”.
I tried to convince Corbin it was a Minneapolis Airbnb tradition to send carollers, but mid-way through the song, Corbin realized what was happening, as I got down on one knee and proposed in the 2-degree snow.

How they met…
“Corbin and Jasson had the modern millennial meet-cute… by connecting on Bumble. After reading Jasson boast about his mac and cheese on his profile and the fact that he super-liked her, Corbin decided to give him a shot. Before their first date, Corbin came down with the stomach flu but decided to keep the date so Jasson didn’t think she was an LA flake. Despite being under the weather, Corbin braved the all-you-can-eat Brazilian BBQ lunch at the Grove Farmers Market. The date continued to LACMA where the two walked and talked for hours until Corbin finally had to come clean and admit to (a completely oblivious) Jasson that she was sick the entire date. That’s when Jasson realized, she really is an actress.” – Waverly Coleman (Waverly Coleman Events)
The proposal…
Jasson: We share a love for the winter holidays. While the pandemic put a damper on the 2020 holidays, I was determined to keep my promise to celebrate in Corbin’s hometown of Minneapolis. I kept disappearing in the days leading up to Christmas to “run errands”. But on the morning of Christmas Eve, Corbin walked out on her porch to hear a caroller singing John Legend’s “So High” on the front porch. I tried to convince Corbin it was a Minneapolis AirBnB tradition to send carollers, but mid-way through the song, Corbin realized what was happening, as I got down on one knee and proposed in the 2-degree snow. After, we celebrated along with Pepper, our whoodle, Judith McKenzie (Corbin’s Mom), and a host of family and friends who joined for a toast on Zoom.
Wedding style & shopping experience…
Corbin: Our wedding attire for guests was formal black-tie. Since it was New Year’s Eve, we asked all guests to wear black or gold. Jasson’s suit was custom-made by Alba Legacy, and true to the occasion. It was an incredibly unique tuxedo jacket with flecks of gold. My dress was an intricate, semi-sheer cream and tulle gown with an incredibly long train. Ironically, I initially thought I wanted something simple. However, when the sales clerk at Vivienne Atelier brought out the most intricate dress while shopping with my mom and best friend, they all knew that the most complicated was the way to go!
Cultural elements…
“Corbin and Jasson’s wedding was a vibrant celebration of love infused with the rich cultural tapestry of Jamaica. 85% of the vendors involved in the event hailed from the local community. The air was filled with the tantalizing aroma of native Jamaican cuisine, skillfully prepared by Chef Oji Jaja, who showcased the island’s culinary treasures.
Corbin and Jasson’s joyous celebration was set against the breathtaking backdrop of Pattoo Castle in Negril, Jamaica – a location chosen with deep-rooted significance. The enchanting destination holds the ancestral ties of Corbin’s maternal and paternal grandparents, making it the perfect setting for their union.
The decision to exchange vows in Jamaica is not just a scenic choice; it’s a tribute to the beautiful love story that began generations ago. Corbin’s grandmother and grandfather, both natives of this vibrant island, embarked on a journey of love that is nothing short of magical. As Corbin lovingly recounts, ‘My grandpa proposed to my mom’s mom on the spot within one day after meeting her at a beauty salon.” – Waverly Coleman (Waverly Coleman Events)
Favorite memories…
Jasson: That’s a tough one because there were so many. Our vows were special because they were just for us. Even though everyone was watching, it felt like the entire crowd melted away, and it was a moment just for us. Our dance was also incredibly special because we worked on it for three months with a friend of Corbin’s who is a professional choreographer.
Corbin: With my dance background and Jasson’s A-game, we were able to surprise all of our guests with this awesome “Dancing With The Stars”-esque dance to John Legend’s “All She Wants To Do Is Dance.”
Advice for other engaged couples…
Work as a team no matter what when planning the wedding. Treat it as a team exercise, as much as someone may want to take over. It’s a great way to grow closer and see both of your visions for the day come to life. Also, plan as much as you can, but know that so much won’t go according to plan. Be open to letting all your plans go out the window if necessary. The most important thing is that you enjoy the day, not that everything goes “perfectly” or to plan.
