Stephanie and Eric’s love story began in High School where they first became “really good friends…always talking to each other during lectures…” It was a professor at the time who first saw the relationship potential between them, even before they themselves realized its truth. That friendship would eventually blossom into a love leading them down the aisle to each other to be joined as husband & wife in a beautiful classic ceremony with modern twists.

Tell us how you met and all about the proposal. We were both in our schools H.O.S.A. Program (Health Occupations Students of America) and so happened to meet each other during one of our meetings at Fort Lauderdale High School. We ended up becoming really good friends in first period always talking to each other during lectures. Our professor at the time, Mrs. Wetherington, would always say you guys are gonna end up dating just watch. We used to look at her crazy and ask her what she’s talking about – were just friends. Who would of thought she had seen something we didn’t see…
The proposal was Memorial Day 2015 and we were all at our family picnic barbecuing and enjoying family company. We were all taking pictures and decided to take a large family photo. After the first family photo was taken, we all stayed put but Eric ran to the camera as if he was adjusting it. Eric’s friend Tony (the best man at our wedding) was trying to direct everyone that was out of frame into the frame, he then asked me to come more to the front. All of a sudden, Eric turned around in front of all of our family and friends and got on one knee and proposed. At first I was so confused and lost – I didn’t realize what was going on. I became speechless and actually thought he fell. I was like what are you doing down there until I saw the box and the ring in his hand. I didn’t see that one coming at all! I felt so special… Of course I said YES! I always loved him and knew I wanted to spend the rest of my life with him.
Describe your wedding style. We wanted the whole cathedral look and loved the stain glass and long aisle. As for the venue we wanted something classic with elegance…something that represented our love and character. We selected a Country Club with all of the qualities we hoped for.
What was wedding dress shopping like for you? Mori Lee Was the Designer and it was stressfull! I cried and had nightmares thinking I chose and paid for the wrong dress. Then Eric told me if i’m not happy with it, or having second thoughts, that I should buy another one but I just had wedding dress jitters. The Expression on my mother and sister’s face, also the details of the dress, I knew Eric would love it. I had four different fittings for the same dress but I knew it was the one once I had seen it for myself one final fitting and it made me tear up.

When did you know they were ‘The One’?
Bride – I knew he was the one when he accepted me when I wasn’t perfect. He would always find the sweetest ways to cheer me up when I wanted to give on everything. He stood by me through the good times and bad times. I love his patience the most.
Groom – Stephanie is very family oriented and I love that about her. But I knew she was the one once I saw how genuine her heart was and her spirituality attracted me to her. And how she goes out her way to make sure everyone is happy. I love her willingness not to give up on anything.
