Many brides are not playing it safe on their wedding day. They are breaking tradition, getting married in unique venues, wearing colored wedding dresses, and carrying non-traditional bouquets. Today’s styled shoot is for the bride that is fearless. Inspired by rough city-scapes, graffiti and bright colors, this shoot proves that you can mix grunge with glamour and have a wedding that is nothing short of fabulous.
Here is what Selina of Vainglorious Brides had to say about the inspiration behind this rugged-glam shoot:
“This shoot was inspired by the non-traditional fearless bride. She is not afraid to express who she is on her wedding day. The safe tradition of wedding white is not her style. She has no interest in perception of purity on her wedding day, rather she expresses that the world around you may not be so pretty. However you can be a diamond in rough, or that glitter amidst the grit.
We chose a very raw and rugged location for the shoot, the grungier the better. The plan was to bring prettiness and a little glam to dilapidation. Lauren of Elle’s Couture Events and Makini of Makini Regal Designs teamed up to created a simple but glamorous tablescape that we styled amongst graffiti and weeds. Lauren also created an intimate bedroom space in a hidden alley way complete with bricks and rubble which was the perfect setting for a grungy glam boudoir session.
Our model Zenobia, a true fan of body art came equipped with the perfect accessory, tattoos. This Egyptian/Sudanese beauty has a subtle roughness that assisted in bringing this vision to life. She was styled by Vainglorious Brides in a Pantora Bridal black wedding gown and a stunning forehead band by Olivia’s Headpieces. We even featured a customized graffiti gown.”
