After the 5th Annual Coterie Retreat in Bermuda, members of Munaluchi Bridal Magazine’s Coterie came together to produce a tropical romance styled wedding photoshoot set in an ancient ruin to appeal to destination wedding minded brides.
Taking place at the Unfinished Church in Bermuda, the impressive Gothic vestige that looms over the town of St. George’s, the church was abandoned in 1899 when near completion, and today it serves as a tourist destination as well as a uniquely stunning venue for weddings in Bermuda.
Collaboration was key to make this shoot a success. Coterie vendors from all over North America as well as our wonderfully talented Bermuda partners really came together to pull off this amazing styled shoot.
When I think of Bermuda I think of tropical beaches and beautiful blue waters. Yet I wanted to something different than the traditional beach wedding to show destination wedding minded brides the full beauty Bermuda has to offer. It wasn’t necessary to go to heavy with the decor as we really wanted to focus on the ancient majesty of the church ruin. We decided incorporating bright colors like fuchsias, oranges, & reds set against lush tropical green leaves like Monstera & Areca Palm would really highlight the gorgeous stone work in the church.
We had several different scenes to shoot including romantic couple portraits around the church and the “jungle”, with the bride in a dramatic Haute Couture Esé Azénabor ballgown and the groom in a classic tuxedo by Mens Warehouse.
The ceremony scene was highlighted by a theatrical entrance and a beautiful hand fasting ritual performed by the talented Rev Roxy. And lastly, the stunning reception table scene set against the broken church walls was accented by our gorgeous bride in her second Esé Azénabor reception gown accompanied her handsome groom.
