Tell us about how you met and all about the proposal!
In 2010, Nathan and Jessica met at a Halloween Party in Charlotte, NC. They began to date and during the summer of 2011, they both relocated for their careers – Nathan moved to San Antonio, Texas and Jessica moved to Boston, MA. Their long distance relationship continued and in 2012, they both relocated to Dallas, Texas. Originally from the Carolinas, both Nathan and Jessica often traveled home for the holidays and special occasions. So on December 21, 2013, on a holiday flight from Dallas to Charlotte, Nathan proposed.
Wedding Style
Wedding dress shopping was a dream come true! I’d always imagined walking down the aisle in a white, fit and flare gown… and that’s exactly what I found. After trying on several styles, my heart was set on the Maggie Sottero Primrose gown with a sweetheart neckline and corset back closure. My vision came true with the custom made cathedral veil.
Culture
It was extremely important to incorporate all of my grandparents into the wedding day. In 2015, my paternal grandparents celebrated 57 years of marriage and my maternal grandparents celebrated 55 years of marriage. We honored my grandparents and asked them to join the dance floor where all three couples celebrated a dance together.
Memories
Our best memory from our wedding was walking into our reception as husband and wife. It was the first time we were able to see how beautiful our special day really was. We were surrounded by our closest family and friends and, we had an amazing time at the reception. Our reception felt like the best party ever, and we didn’t want the night to end! I remember sitting down at after our first dances and leaning over to my best friend and Maid of Honor and said “Wow, this is truly amazing and the room is gorgeous. This is the happiest day of my life.”
