Tell us about how you met and all about the proposal!
In 2000, we met on the campus of the University of Tampa. At first I was not interested but he knew I was the one. He would look at me from a distance, he would ask his friends about me, but he never approached me. One day, my sorority sister asked me to invite him to our Blue and White Annual Male and Female Auction. So I went up to him and asked him to participate in the auction. He said, “Yes,” but only if I buy him at the auction. I agreed! There was a war with other ladies and I lost so at the end of the night, I spoke to him to apologize for not keeping my promise. He said, “You didn’t have to pay for me, you could have had me for free.”
He proposed to me on the bridge by Hyde Park, in Tampa, FL during Thanksgiving. I was not expecting it and it was a complete surprise. We enjoyed a long engagement. In December of 2005, we got married at the courthouse in an impromptu ceremony. Throughout our years of marriage, we had two beautiful children and we are still building our life together as a family. 10 years of marriage and 15 years of being together, we are “Still In Love!”
The vow renewal session…
I chose the University of Tampa to take our photos since that is where it all began. I wanted our pictures to show the long lasting love between us. To show our casual side, our fun-loving side, our sexy side, and the passion that keeps us in love with each other all these years.
What did you do on your first date?
Our first date was low key and casual. We had dinner at Bennigans. But after all, this was our first date after months of just staring at each other from a distance on campus.
What’s your favorite thing to do as a couple?
Our favorite thing to do as couple is go to the movies and travel to new places. Our favorite place to visit is New Orleans!
How has wedding planning been so far?
Wedding planning has been great! I have a wonderful wedding planner, Christine from Dreamday Celebrations. She has made this process easy, even though I still have tough decisions to make….I am very indecisive.
Tell us what you’re looking forward to most on the wedding day.
The most important aspect that we are looking forward to on our wedding day, is to renew our love with each other; finally surrounded by all of our family and friends.
