There are many pathways to a persons heart. For Terri it appears that the ears may be one of them, as Antwone certainly left a strong impression on their first date with multiple karaoke performances – charming her into a second date.
Having been set up together by a mutual friend, their love story revealed itself to be one beautiful surprise after another.
With a job opportunity distancing them by multiple states one might assume a slow parting of ways inevitable, but for Terri and Antwone their relationship not only didn’t falter an inch, it “evolved into something beautiful that included God, love, trust, and respect.”
The greatest surprise of all occurred two years after their initial meeting, during Antwone’s Las Vegas birthday trip. At the Ballagio fountains, following one of their iconic water displays, Antwone turned to Terri, the woman who owned his heart so completely, expressed his all-consuming love for her, and asked her to spend the rest of her life with him as husband and wife.

Tell us how you met and all about the proposal! Antwone and I met September 2013 after a mutual friend suggested we go on a date. Our first date was at De’Lish Cafe downtown Dayton, OH for karaoke and dinner. Antwone sang three songs that night for karaoke and I was impressed he could actually sing. Before the night was over Antwone asked me on a second date to a comedy show. I accepted the offer to go on second date. We had a great time on both dates. At the time, I worked in Dayton, OH and Antwone worked as an entrepreneur that traveled for work. So we would hang out when he was in town. In March 2014, I received a job offer to move to Warner Robins, Ga and I accepted it. I moved at the end of June 2014 and we were not sure what God had in store for our relationship. However, it wasn’t until I move to Warner Robins, Georgia that our relationship came full circle. I was in a new city and starting a new chapter in my life. Antwone was still living in Ohio. After living in two different states, many phone conversations, text messages, and traveling to see each other our relationship evolved into something beautiful that included God, love, trust, and respect. Next came an unexpected surprise.
The proposal was on December 19, 2015 during my fiancé Antwone’s birthday trip to Las Vegas, NV. The proposal was a complete surprise planned by my fiancé. Antwone setup the surprise proposal in front of the Bellagio water show. After the Bellagio’s water show was over Antwone turned me around and got down on one knee. He said, “Terri, I love you and I would love to spend the rest of my life with you as my wife. Will you marry me.” I was totally surprised! I said Yes!!!!!
The engagement session: Our engagement session was to capture our love and to be able to share an important milestone in our life with our family and friends. Antwone is from Ohio and I am from Alabama. We both live in the Atlanta metro area now, which is the reason for our engagement session location. Atlanta is our common location between us, which we love exploring together. Downtown Atlanta is located in the heart of Atlanta business with world class restaurants, and a countless number of cultural attractions to sporting events and historic character. So that’s why we picked downtown Atlanta as our engagement session location. It also was a great opportunity for us to work with our photographer for the first time before our wedding day. Our photographer definitely helped to make our session feel less stressful and more natural as if we were just spending time together on a regular day/night. Our engagement session was lot of fun and our photographer was very professional
What’s your favorite thing to do as a couple? We love to travel to new places, explore new thing, and spend time with family and friends together as a couple.
How has wedding planning been so far? Wedding planning has been relatively stress free. We’ve not been without a few bumps in the road, from wedding planner/vendors to the guest list, but overall the experience has been amazing. The hardest part has been creating a guest list that captures the intimacy wanted for the wedding day without hurting those who feel close to the both of us. We are tackling this as a team and juggling our busy schedule.
Tell us what you’re looking forward to most on the wedding day: We cannot wait to see our vision become a reality! We are beyond excited to celebrate our union with our closest family and friends.
