While Orlando and Canetra’s wedding at The Foundry at Puritan Mill is “simply elegant,” there was nothing simple about their stunning nuptials!
Featuring gorgeous florals, upscale decor, and flawless event execution by Jackie Frontiero with Dana’s Floral Design, the couple’s Atlanta wedding was the perfect testament to their sweet romance.
First introduced by a mutual friend on Facebook, Orlando and Canetra’s initial online chat began a conversation of a lifetime… and they haven’t stopped talking since!
Following a whirlwind romance, Orlando knew he’d found his forever woman and began planning how to pop the question. With family being incredibly important to both of them, it only made sense to make his proposal a family affair.
Under the guise of Canetra’s Grandfather’s 83rd birthday celebration at her Mother’s new home in Atlanta, Georgia, they traveled all the way from Montgomery, Alabama. When the arrive, Orlando walked Canetra into her surprise proposal with butterflies in his stomach. Little did she know, this celebration would be even more special in just a few moments!
“My proposal was so special to me,” Canetra recalls. “We finally made it to my mom’s house and as soon as I walked in, I was surrounded by all of my family and friends! My husband proposed to me in my mom’s new house with my mom and grandad by my side. And of course, I said yes!!”

How they met…
Facebook! My high school friends were attending college at Alabama State University In Montgomery, AL, while I was attending Atlanta Metropolitan College. I saw Orlando was a friend of my friend, Cha’fon Payne. So she set it up for us to talk and we’ve been together ever since!
The proposal…
My proposal was so special to me.
At the time, my mom had purchased a new home and it was also my grandad, Hubert Paige’s, 83rd birthday. I was told we were celebrating my grandad’s birthday at my mom’s new house so I didn’t dress up like I usually do.
We traveled from Montgomery, Alabama, to Atlanta, Georgia. Orlando was dressed in a nice suit and very nervous. We finally made it to my mom’s house and as soon as I walked in, I was surrounded by all of my family and friends!
My husband proposed to me in my mom’s new house with my mom and grandad by my side. And of course, I said yes!!
Wedding style & attire…
SIMPLE but ELEGANT!! I wore an Ivory dress with and long lace floral train and Orlando wore a simple tuxedo with a white coat.
Wedding shopping experience…
It was a breeze! I had the best wedding planner EVER! Jackie Frontiero with Dana’s Floral Design made my shopping experience easy and simple. I put my entire wedding in her hands and she executed!
The groom-to-be…
Cultural elements…
I didn’t want a traditional wedding. We simply said “I DO” and partied at our reception, which was exactly how I wanted It. We did take our first communion together as husband and wife at the altar.
The ceremony…
Best wedding day memory…
The best memory from my wedding is when we said “I DO” to each other. I vividly remember us both smiling from ear to ear, holding each other hands, gazing into each other eyes.
