Paris just wrapped up their Haute Couture Fashion Week with scores of decadent dresses and jaw-dropping designs from fashion’s top ateliers from Giorgio Armani Prive to Versace. Romance was definitely the mood and there was much bridal inspiration on the runway. Here are my favorite looks from a few that presented during Paris Haute Couture Fashion Week.
Creative director Donatella Versace did not disappoint when she presented her latest collections in shades of red, grey, orange, lime and green. Many of the vixen-like looks were fitted to the waist with a need to accentuate a woman’s curves. The detailing in the corset designs and the lace embroidery were meticulous. There were 15 looks from floor-length to minis to thigh-high friendly to collar cinch jackets. Plenty of translucent designs with lace accents were fitted on the bodice and skirts. This was Donatella’s return to PFW since her last offering for her made-to-measure line was last seen in 2004. After a successful collaboration with H&M, Dontalla’s return was well-received.
Giorgio Armani Prive
Armani gave a modern take on the business suit set with sharp tailoring designs with contrasting shoulders and folded skirts. This collection was inspired by the natural metamorphosis of a snake which was painstakingly emphasized on each runway design from head to toe. The detailing of the snake from its shape to its skin were poured into ‘80s-inspired broad shoulder jackets, snake-detailing clutches, pointy-toe pumps, tanks, & fingerless gloves.
