Timeless chic and traditional glam are the defining styles of Abiola and Willibroad’s classic engagement session in the heart of Atlanta’s art scene at The Woodruff Arts Center.
Mixing two distinct looks, including an off-the-shoulder red gown with a glamorous jewel-encrusted bodice and a sleek black suit paralleled by an outfit change into traditional African attire, Abiola and Willibroad were stylish and effortlessly cool in their Atlanta engagement session.
Captured by the ever-so-talented MunaCoterie photographer, Atta Junior, the couple emerges from the art center’s doors with confidence and excitement for their future nuptials. Their proceeding walkabout in the heart of Atlanta’s historic arts center oozes style and so much love. We can’t wait to see their wedding photos!

How they met…
We had just moved to Nashville, TN; I moved from Nigeria to do my master’s, and he moved from Cleveland, OH, to start his medical residency. We were invited to a Church fellowship by mutual friends.
I remember him sitting next to me and trying to start a conversation, but I was not exactly interested but acted interested in the spirit of civility. About a week or two later, I received a message from an unknown number “We missed you at the fellowship today.” It turns out he was checking to make sure I was doing ok.
After seeking my “permission” to check in now and then, his consistency left an impression. And that was the start of our “friendship.” And very subtly, he warmed his way into my heart. The rest is history.
The proposal…
He invited me to St Thomas, one of the US Virgin Islands, to celebrate the Christmas holidays with his family. We went out sightseeing and picture taking. Everyone was taking pictures haphazardly in no specific order. Under the guise of trying to capture a picturesque scene, he asked us to pose.
I walked towards the scene and turned to face him; lo and behold, he was down on one knee with a ring in hand and facing the sunset…I was stunned to tears and left speechless because while I hoped it would happen someday, I couldn’t have asked for a better Christmas gift.
Their first date…
Who takes you out to a rustic steakhouse on a first date? To my amazement, the food was delicious, and the environment was pleasant. Still, more importantly, the company was great, a humble reminder that it is the company that takes an experience from memorable to momentous.
Favorite thing to do as a couple…
We love traveling together and visiting new places. We also love cooking together (technically, I do the cooking, and he keeps me company). Again, the company makes a difference.
What they’re looking forward to most…
Walking down the aisle, exchanging our vows, and sharing the joy of the occasion with our loved ones.
