With their modern industrial wedding as the backdrop to celebrate Black Southern culture, Rasmine and Tyrell’s nuptials were an incredible luxe event.
The newlyweds first met way back in high school but reconnected on social media after Tyrell commented on her pic and she responded. ” I knew she was blushing because of how quickly she responded,” he shares.
After receiving the cutest Christmas Eve proposal, the future bride and groom chose luxury planner Darrell K. Gambrell to help design the wedding of their dreams.
The couple definitely wanted to have small yet unique elements to help make the day feel more special for them, their guests, and the wedding party. For example, Tyrell and his groomsmen traveled to Texas to get fitted for their custom tuxedos at Crown of Weath in Houston, Texas. Within each tuxedo, custom messages were carefully stitched inside.
Rasmine’s dress journey began at Dressing Room South. Accompanied by members of her family, they were treated like royalty and Rasmine ultimately chose a sexy yet modest gown for the ceremony.
For their wedding style, Rasmine and Tyrell chose to incorporate rustic yet modern details like willow chairs and several wooden-style banquet tables to compliment the industrial vibes of their reception venue. Muna Coterie member SmithaLee Photography captured all the beautiful details!

How we met…
We met in high school initially but reconnected at a mutual friend’s party.
A ring for Christmas…
The proposal was on Christmas Eve 2022 surrounded by our families. That year we were having a Christmas Eve Pajama Party. During one of the raffle prizes, my ticket won and Tyrell brought the gift out himself. It ended up being a box that opened up into all of our favorite pics together and as I kept opening all of the boxes inside the big one, a ring box appeared. Tyrell then got down on one knee and proposed.
Rasmine’s shopping experience…
My wedding shopping experience was truly a dream come true. I bought my dress at Dressing Room South, and it was such a personable experience where I was the only bride in the shop. We laughed, we cried, and truly had the best time. We even stayed past the closing time of the shop! The owner and bridal stylist made us feel at home. They let me try on as many dresses as needed until I found the one that made me truly feel like a bride. I had my mom, aunties, and best friend there which made the experience even more special.
Rasmine’s dress…
My dress was an A-line dress with a sweetheart neckline and a corset. The back of the dress was a deep V shape that showcased the majority of my back. I was going for elegant with a hint of sexiness.
Choosing the right tuxedo…
Tyrell: My shopping experience for the tuxedo was amazing. For my 30th birthday, I flew to Houston Texas with my groomsmen to get fitted for our completely custom-made tuxedos. We went to Crown of Wealth and the experience was nothing short of amazing! Everything was specifically designed for us. I had a vision and Addy brought it to life. I had a personal message stitched inside of each person’s tux and they did not see it until the tuxedos were sent to us two months later. It made everything special.
How we celebrated our culture…
We incorporated Black Southern American Culture. From the food we ate to the music we danced to, the entire wedding was an embodiment of Black Southern culture.
Wedding memories…
The best memory for me was being introduced as Mr. and Mrs. Brown during the reception. We came out to one of our favorite songs and set the tone for the rest of the night. We were there to celebrate our love.
Our best advice for you…
Don’t get too consumed with the wedding planning process. Remember that all the small details won’t matter and that the marriage is the most important thing. Enjoy your fiancé/fiancee and don’t let wedding planning be the only thing you two talk about. Take everything one day at a time and be understanding of your partner. Every day you wake you should ask yourself, “How can I love my partner today?”
