Rasheeda and Marzette’s pretty and romantic southern wedding and reception planned by Staci Franklin featured the softest blush hues, and beautiful boho glam decor which echoed the summer vibes of their Tennesse I do’s.
This late summer outdoor ceremony planned by Staci Franklin had the bride and groom’s family taking center stage as two families merged into one. The entire wedding party with its beautifully rose-colored gowns worn by the bridesmaids and coordinating bow ties worn by the groomsmen echoed the vision of boho glam decor, which guests saw throughout the day with statement bouquets of pampas grass and delicate florals created by Olivia Ward Events taking center stage at the ceremony and reception.

How we met…
We met at work. During that time, it was completely a peer relationship. However, as we look back our time as peers was allowing us a chance to get to know each other better. From co-workers to life partners.
The glamorous life…
Our engagement story…
OMG! So, we were in Puerto Rico on a trip he planned for me. It was beautiful and romantic. I was not thinking about a proposal just really excited that we had a chance to get away. The proposal- We were on the beach just relaxing. Marzette asked if I wanted a drink and then left to go get us two drinks. While I was laying there a guy approached me saying how beautiful I was and almost simultaneously, Marzette walked up with our drinks. My heart was in a panic.
The stranger immediately starts to tell Marzette how beautiful I was and was bold enough to ask for my number!! Marzette responded “Do you know how much I love this woman!?” (I began looking around for security) All I could get out was “Good day sir, Good day sir, it’s time for you to leave”. The stranger then said, “We can share her or if you love her so much marry her!!” I said a small prayer and yelled, “He doesn’t have to marry me to prove that to you”!!
Then, as I turned back towards Marzette, he was on one knee and asked me to be his wife. Of course, I said, YES. The entire beach started laughing and erupted into applause…it seemed that everyone knew but me. It was fun and thought out; yet spontaneous. To this day when I think about my proposal I smile, laugh, and tear up.
Our wedding day style…
White dress (boho vibes) with an embroidered cathedral veil. The groom wore a classic tailored suit (grey). Our accent color was a dusty rose, which was the color of the bridesmaid’s dresses and ties for the men.
My bridal shopping experience was…
Easy. I found my dress quickly. It was truly a dream. I went to a bridal shop that carried unique dresses. It was like my dress was there waiting on me.
We see you, queen…
To celebrate our culture…
We jumped the broom! It was important for us to keep this tradition as it signifies our sweeping away the past, jumping into our new lives, and respecting our ancestors.
Walking into this ceremony like...
Pretty as a picture…
Our best wedding day memories…
My best memory was looking around and seeing our families. There were so many smiles and so much love in the air. It was a genuine celebration of love. We both hadn’t been around our entire family in years. Some family members hadn’t seen each other in 20 years…. to have our marriage be the reason for togetherness was very emotional for us both. We are truly blessed.
Our best advice for you is…
Don’t make it so big that you can’t savor it. Carve out time just for you two and then carve out about an hour that you get to enjoy your wedding (nothing else just you all and your guests). Although it was magical, our time constraints prevented us from really savoring moments. It was a blur.
Champagne? Yes, please…
