Nia and Antonio celebrated their anniversary with a bold NOLA inspired photoshoot dreamed up by Behind The Veil Design Studio.
Who doesn’t love a good New Orleans party? This NOLA-inspired wedding and reception shoot is the perfect way to inspire your next celebration. This real-life couple brought the party with them because they celebrated their special day surrounded by Instaworthy decor and florals.
Creating the festive atmosphere with pops of reds, pinks, and creams against blue candles and linens, Petite Floral Creations had the best time showcasing how a classic reception can still have a fun and fabulous twist.

How did you style the models?
We felt it was only appropriate for our models to have two very distinct looks. The first gown our model bride wore was an elegant A-line dress with a romantic heart-shaped neckline and slit for just the right amount of flirtiness.
Grown and sexy…
To complement this look, we styled our groom in a burgundy tuxedo that was both masculine and fun.
Suited and suave…
First look inspiration…
Bold reception hues…
Our second bridal look was all fun and sexy. We felt it would make for the perfect reception bridal gown with its sheerness and intricate beading detail. For our groom model, we chose to style him a classic navy tuxedo that was both dapper and sophisticated.
A little something extra for the big day…
What was the inspiration behind the decor and florals?
The Design team wanted boldness in color all around against the exposed brick and white features in the venue. For the tables, we selected tall and low florals with lush greens filled with fuschia roses, ivory hydrangeas, and blush tea roses just to name a few. These florals were replicated in the alter floral stands, sweetheart table, cake, and bridal bouquet flowers, which also had a touch of anemones for that added chicness.
Our lavish tablescape consisted of teal velvet linen, an eclectic mix of vintage dinnerware, gold flatware, gold-rimmed drinkware and chargers, and gold tealights and candle stands with teal tapers for that romantic touch. Our chairs were clean and vintage, which complemented the colorfulness of the tablescape perfectly.
Which design elements were your favorites?
The white marble place cards (which were coasters that our calligrapher added each participating vendor’s name to) were our favorite design elements. They were both modern yet timeless. Also, the two-tiered cutting cake with its tier of what appeared to be tattered fabric with gold edging was all bold and fun.
Tell us about some DIY details…
The menu cards with their customized NOLA menu and the invitation stationery with lace details were a special DIY moment for the planning team.
How did you pull it all together?
This look was pulled off by not being afraid to mix both modern, bold, and lush elements, with unique vintage pieces. Also, by carrying the design elements from the guest dinner table, cake table, sweetheart table, and even stationery we created flow and consistency.
