How they met…
Tavia and Brandon first met in the summer of 2013 on a mutual guys and girls trip to Kings Dominion Amusement Park.
The proposal…
On the week Brandon proposed, he set up an intimate date night picnic along the waterfront in Old Town Alexandria. Unknown to Tavia, their regular “date night” was anything but!
Tavia recalls, “…once we finished eating and walked over to the pier to enjoy a better view of the sunset, [Brandon] got down on one knee to propose!”
And, luckily for Tavia, Brandon enlisted the help of their friends to capture it all.
“Everything was photographed by a mutual friend who was hidden nearby to capture the proposal behind the scenes and Brandon even secretly had friends meet at the location to celebrate after watching everything unfold.”
It was an amazing moment they’ll never forget.
When they knew they were “the one”…
For Tavia, she knew Brandon was the one after the first weekend they spent together.
“Everything was so laid back and genuine from the very start that it was hard to imagine life without each other!” She adds, “Brandon made it even easier when he did the little things too, like delivering flowers to my doorstep after the first date.”
The engagement session & theme…
While the couple didn’t necessarily have a theme for their engagement session, they wanted it “to be a little different from the average which is why [they] chose the specific location and outfits.”
Their first date…
For their first date, Brandon traveled from the University of Virginia for a quick weekend date. They went to dinner and a movie.
Tavia admits, “…we still joke about [that restaurant] being “the worst tasting spot ever.”
Their favorite thing to do as a couple…
They love to travel and try new food places!
Wedding planning so far…
Wedding planning has been an unpredictable roller coaster experience for these two.
“[It’s] been keeping us on our toes with all of the changing Coronavirus restrictions,” Tavia says, “but luckily planning the event with SG3 Events has made everything within our control a breeze!
What they’re looking forward to most on their wedding day…
They’re most looking forward to “being able to celebrate this major milestone with all of [their] family and friends!”
