Coterie Wedding Planner, Patrice Dehaney of Lux Event Design, brought Arielle and Sevawn’s timeless romantic destination wedding to life!
Arielle and Sevawn’s love story began through a mutual friend. After their first meeting in 2009, sparks flew between them and the rest is history! In April 2021, Sevawn asked Arielle to spend forever with him at their very own housewarming party.
The couple headed to Jamaica with 120 of their closest friends and family for an elaborate and authentically Jamaican destination wedding in Discovery Bay. Working with a team of all-Jamaican vendors, the couple fell in love at first sight with the Borginvilla event venue. Set against luscious tropical backdrops and cliff-side views, the couple couldn’t imagine a more special place to say “I do!”.
Their wedding features elegant decor, florals, and attire in neutral hues of ivory, nude, and champagne, which paired perfectly with their romantic and timeless theme. A cliff-side sunset photoshoot overlooking the ocean by Chin Photographics is one of many highlights of their gorgeous wedding!

How we met…
We met back in 2009, through a mutual friend. The rest is history…
Our first look…
A surprise proposal…
Sevawn proposed in April 2021 at our housewarming.
We recently purchased a home and had a family get-together where our family from out of town flew in. During the toast of thanking everyone for coming, Sevawn popped the question.

Wedding style & attire…
Our wedding decor/inspiration was timeless and romantic, so we went with neutral colors like ivory, nude, and champagne. We both then changed into our second looks, which were both white and simple but elegant.
Wedding shopping experience…
My shopping experience was pretty easygoing. I went to a couple bridal shops initially with my mom but then went to Brides of Florida and knew I would choose a dress that day.
Our ceremony…
Incorporating our Jamaican roots…
We both come from Jamaican backgrounds and knew we wanted a destination wedding so it was pretty easy for us to choose the location and incorporate our Jamaican culture. All vendors were selected from Jamaica, we wanted our wedding to be truly authentic to Jamaican culture.
Mr. & Mrs…
Favorite memories…
My best memory would have to be the overall experience of having a destination wedding, spending that time with my husband and all our family and friends who came.
Our first dance…
Advice for other engaged couples…
Our best advice would be to do what you want and not let anyone dictate your wedding, have fun, embrace every moment, and be present.
