Antonia, born and raised in New Orleans and Rashan had a simple and elegant ceremony at St. Josephs Church, taking a vintage Rolls Royce to their reception at The Westin Hotel where Antonia was serenaded by Rashan’s fraternity brothers. March 8th was quite the celebration, coming a handful of years after Rashan set up a meeting at work so the two could formally meet. Talk about initiative!

Tell us about how you met and all about the proposal!
We met at work in a meeting for a charity event. I pretended he wasn’t there, but inquired about him the second the meeting was over. When I got back to my desk, I had an email that read, “Just in case you were wondering who I am…” Little did I know, he had been inquiring about me a month prior and he had coworkers “place us” in the same meeting.
After two years of dating, we got engaged on 12/26/12 atop the W Hotel in Atlanta on the helicopter pad. He planned a recreation of our first date in Atlanta. We did all of our favorite things: shopping, eating, movies and a Hawks game. Sadly, our helicopter ride and video were sabotaged by the high wind. But it was still a moment to remember because he reminded me that things will not always be perfect or go as planned but through it all, he will always be by my side to make things right.
My dress was a Matthew Christopher dress named Eleanor. Glamorous chapel-length, trumpet gown made of silk duchess satin. The bodice was overlaid with Swiss dotted tulle and encrusted with Edwardian scroll beading. The sheer sleeves that started at the tip of my shoulder were also Swiss dotted tulle with Edwardian scroll beading. The neckline framed my décolletage in a tasteful and elegant manner.
We had a traditional New Orleans reception: chargrilled oysters as a part of the cuisine, flambeaux banana foster dessert, beignets and milk dessert, and the famous second line exit.
Memories
Standing in the back of the aisle and seeing my future husband at the altar, I had this excitement that was radiating from me. When I got to the altar, I couldn’t let my Dad’s arm go. When I finally took my groom’s hand, a calmness and sense of security came over me.
Help a bride-to-be out!
Be calm and patient. Don’t let the special day get the best of you. Enjoy every second because it goes by in the blink of an eye.
