Milan and Mischael’s traditional summer wedding in Florida featured an elegant, polished style, romantic florals, and a sophisticated black-and-white color palette!
Milan and Mischael first met in 2017 at the University of Florida when they were undergrad students.
To celebrate Milan’s 26th birthday, she and her closest friends, along with Mischael, traveled to Blue Ridge, Georgia. Having no idea of Mischael’s plan, Milan was completely taken by surprise when Mischael popped the question at a vineyard during their wine tour.
She (Milan) had no idea it would turn into an engagement weekend!
While planning their nuptials, Milan and Mischael wanted their wedding style to be elegant and romantic. The traditional white florals and minimal decor, along with the black and white color scheme, created a polished, classic look. Milan wore an elegant old Hollywood-inspired gown and completed her wedding look with a crown and sheer gloves, adding the perfect touch of royalty and glamour.

How did you meet?
We met in undergrad at the University of Florida in 2017.
Tell us about the proposal.
We were in Blue Ridge Georgia celebrating Milan’s 26th birthday with a group of her closest friends and she had no idea it would turn into an engagement weekend! Mischael popped the question in the middle of a vineyard during the group’s wine-tasting tour.
Wedding Style:
Milan’s dress was a beautiful Martina Liana gown. It was her vision to have a simple yet elegant dress that gave a classic old Hollywood vibe. She paired it with a beautiful crown and sheer gloves. Mischael wore a double-breasted white tuxedo jacket with a black lapel, black trousers, and black velvet bow tie.
What was the wedding shopping experience like for you?
Milan: I ended up loving the first dress I tried on at the bridal shop. I tried many others but was in love with the first dress!
Mischael: I am sure the shopping experience was a lot less complicated for me than it was for my wife! I found a custom suit that fit our vision and had it tailored to fit perfectly.
Did you incorporate any culture into your wedding?
After our ceremony, we jumped the broom to pay tribute to Milan’s Black American culture. Mischael is Haitian so there was lots of Haitian music at the reception.
What is your best memory from your wedding?
Milan’s best memory is when Mischael and his frat brothers did a stroll/routine for her garter removal then proceeded to go viral on social media for it. Mischael’s best memory from the wedding is watching Milan walk down the aisle.
What is the best wedding advice you can give to engaged couples?
Choose the people that you two as a couple want in attendance and don’t focus on making everyone else happy. Enjoy every single moment because time will FLY.
