Open at select times of the year, this mountaintop estate opened to the public in 1959 and is more than happy to host your wedding, rehearsal dinners, anniversary party, etc… If you’re looking to scout the location, have some fun with it and stop by during a murder mystery dinner theatre, acoustic music night, or the annual Christmas celebration.

Boldt Castle – Heart Island, Alexandria Bay, New York
Built by George C. Boldt, millionaire proprietor of the world famous Waldorf Astoria Hotel in 1900 for his wife, this castle is located on Heart Island and only accessible by boat (and easily accessible for Canadian visitors as well). Boldt Castle will bring your fairytale wedding or vow renewal ceremony to life. If I were getting married, this castle would be number one on my list of contenders, the grounds are absolutely stunning and who would pass up the opportunity to island hop and have your reception at another breathtaking location of your choice in the 1000 Islands? If you’re going to have your wedding at a castle and on an island, this is the way to go.

Lyndhurst Castle – Tarrytown, New York
Located on 67 acres, much of which overlooks the Hudson River, you may have seen a portion of the grounds of Lyndhurst Castle in the 2014 film, Winter’s Tale or the PBS special, Ten Homes that Changed America among other places. Designed in 1838 and shaped over the course of a century with three families at the helm, Lyndhurst Castle is a place of wonder and amazement just a half hour away from the city.
Lyndhurst has specific expertise in handling elegant weddings for multi-cultural couples, destination weddings, gay weddings, kosher weddings, Hindu weddings and exclusive small weddings for mature couples with wedding parties of 40 or under.
There’s almost no greater feeling than knowing you’re welcome, as a minority, in a castle and being treated like the Queens we are and Lyndhurst Castle is proud to make this a reality. So definitely scout this location if you’re interested in a New York wedding.

Biltmore – Asheville, North Carolina
Cornelia Vanderbilt could have chosen any place in the world for her 1924 wedding reception, and she chose Biltmore.
While many castles do have limitations on where wedding ceremonies and/or receptions can take place on their grounds, Biltmore offers up NINE venues to choose from, the Lioncrest Grand Ballroom, Antler Hill Barn, the tavern lot, and the hilltop included. Even better, Biltmore offers complimentary overnight stay at the Inn on Biltmore Estate for the bride and groom! What? It really doesn’t get any better than that!
We’re also happy to plan your rehearsal dinner, bridesmaid luncheon, or brunch, and can complete your wedding experience with any of the services listed below.
* Carriage rides for the bride and groom
* Spa services including wedding massages, pedicures, and manicures
* Private wine tastings at Biltmore’s award-winning Winery
* Event rentals including tents, linens, lighting, and décor
* Custom floral creations
* Spectacular fireworks

Ca’ d’Zan – Sarasota, Florida
For a bit of a splurge, the tropical Florida grounds of Ca’ d’Zan is the venue for the bride-to-be looking for a midwestern influence and more of a culturally expressive fairytale experience.
Whether an intimate wedding with panoramic views of the grounds at Belvedere Tower or a larger wedding on the Terrace where the views of the sunset are divine and the stars shine bright, Ca’ d’Zan should be a high contender for the castle experience with a bit of flair.

Castle Farms – Charlevoix, Michigan
For summer and winter weddings, Castle Farms offers six ceremony locations and five reception locations for up to 350 guests, and over a dozen locations available for your photography session
Built in 1918, this French Renaissance-style castle is heaven on earth for any Francophile. You may not be able to get married in a Parisian castle, but this may very well be the next best thing.

Loveland Castle – Loveland, Ohio
The Historical Loveland Castle & Museum Chateau Laroche was built as an expression and reminder of the simple strength and rugged grandeur of the mighty men who lived when Knighthood was in flower.
Loveland Castle services more intimate weddings, for a guest limit of 65 and is so beautiful, you might find yourself making annual visits here, especially as your family grows.
Castello di Amorosa – Calistoga, California
Who knew there were castles in Napa Valley? Castello di Amorosa was a pleasant surprise in my search for American castles. Castello di Amorosa sits on a hundred-seventy beautiful acres of forest and hills with a stream and a lake and has a winery that produces primarily Italian style wines which is perfect for the wine connoisseur bride-to-be. Offering the classic medieval feel with a strong Italian influence, there’s over a handful of locations on the grounds for your wedding ceremony and reception, whether inside or outdoors. If there’s one castle on the West Coast worth considering as your wedding venue, this castle is it.
Happy castle hunting!
