When you go to Italy, what do you seek? Do you seek calming music, lush greenery, the smell of perfect cheese and olive trees, and the best vineyards and wineries in the world? If you do, the Villas and Hotel at Monteverdi are the perfect destinations for you.
Nestled in the heart of Tuscany’s vineyards, the Villas at Monteverdi are a collection of perfectly restored rental villas in the historical village of Castiglioncello del Trinoro. The village, on a cliff 2000 feet above sea level, is the perfect location to catch the most breathtaking views, sunrises and sunsets. The Villas were restored by American attorney and professor, Michael Cioffi, who was so enchanted by his visit to Castiglioncello del Trinoro almost 10 years ago that he was determined to create the perfect travel experience for all future visitors. He was determined to create the right environment that married ancient and modern, old and new, as well as to introduce all who arrive to art, culture and social interaction. To succeed, he enlisted the help of his 3 children, who brought their veritable skills and talents to bear. By most accounts, this family project has been a stellar success!
There are 3 fully restored villas at Monteverdi, each with a private concierge, private chef, customized menu and the finest wines. They are also equipped with wireless internet and come with complimentary Tuscan breakfasts of fresh fruit, yogurt, pastries, and espressos, among other delicacies. The first villa, Villa Muri Antichi, has 6 bedrooms and 6.5 bathrooms; it also has a large library, wood-burning fireplaces, a remarkable wine cellar, outdoor dining terraces, a private gym and the choice of onsite or offsite spa treatments. For this unmatched privacy, a week’s stay at this villa will set you back a cool 12,000 Euros.
The second villa, Villa Amiata, has 3 bedrooms and 3.5 bathrooms. This villa is spread out across 3 floors with amazing views and European-style appliances to ensure that all meals are cooked the Tuscan way. For a real taste of local Italy, this villa is perfect for you. However, for this, be prepared to pay 7,000 Euors for a week’s stay.
The third and last villa, Villa San Pietro, has 2 bedrooms and 2.5 baths – but don’t be fooled by what you may perceive as its smaller size (as compared to the other 2). This villa is perfect for wine connoiseurs who will be delighted to discover its 1500-bottle wine cellar. For this villa, a week’s stay costs 4,000 Euros.
This summer, a boutique hotel called the Hotel Monteverdi was added to the family of serene luxury properties. The hotel has 5 large deluxe rooms and 2 deluxe suites and the perfect mixture of ancient and modern with the use of centuries-old wooden beams juxtaposed with modern, state-of-the-art amenities. Nightly stays at Hotel Monteverdi cost 250 Euros per night.
So, if you’re into peace and serenity, exotic wines, breathtaking views and a relaxing experience, Monteverdi is just the place for you.
