We’re always running towards something, for Duwane it was Olivia’s heart. During July 4th weekend on a visit to see her family she ran into him after he finished the Peachtree Road Race. He stroked up a conversation with her at a bbq, and they soon began talking everyday. After a few years of a long distance relationship she finally moved to Atlanta to be closer to him. In 2013, four years after their initial meeting at the race he’d decided to run again; running towards the finish line, he secretly held an engagement ring in his hand…
The Proposal
On July 4, 2013, Duwane ran the 6.2 miles Peachtree Road race in the rain with the ring in his hand unbeknownst to Olivia; she met him at the finish line with her parents and Duwane’s family and friends. He took her hand and said he had to tell her something, “On this day 4 years ago we met and I knew you were the one for me…” Olivia started crying as soon as he got down on his knee , his lip started quivering and rest became a blur. She said she doesn’t even remember him asking her the big questions she just said YES and nodded her head. People in the park clapped and cheered for the newly engaged couple.
For their engagement shoot the couple worked with Matthew Druin Photography to create an urban and romantic e-session around Atlanta. The city setting served as an amazing backdrop as they began their night on the town; instead of the usual pomp and circumstance, the couple look as if they were having a fun date night. Their photographer captured the love between the couple and the adoration of their city with artistic shots of even the simplest of moments, like sitting on a buildings stoop. We hope you have an amazing time at their wedding this July at the Peachtree Club!
The Engagement Session
There was not a direct theme other than we wanted something urban and represented the city we love and live in, Atlanta. We left it up to Matt to take creative control and make everything happen.
Looking Forward to…
Being in a room full of my loved ones witnessing God’s work.
