Tell us how you met. We have Tinder, and the courage to swipe to the right, to thank for our introduction. After connecting we spent about six months just communicating via phone to get to know each other. He was a little impatient, but I was hesitant. His tenacity eventually won me over and I agreed to take the next step and actually meet in person.
Tell us all about the proposal. The engagement proposal was tricky considering how involved we both are in all aspect of our relationship. The day I decided to ask for her hand I knew I would have to be several steps ahead of her. So I researched many ideas. I wanted it to be original and truly a surprise to her. Finally, I knew what, when and how it was going to happen. Mastro’s Steakhouse was the place, the time was 8pm and Nick the manager and his wait staff was going to help me pull this off. Once we arrived I pulled Nick aside and secretly handed him the ring. Nick said he would be ready when I gave him the signal. Shortly after dinner was dessert. I looked at Nick and signaled to him to bring the dessert. There it was in the center of chocolate covered strawberries with dry ice. I believe it was at this point when the entire restaurant stared in awe of this most grand surprise. My bride to be had not even noticed the ring or the dessert until I was down on one knee and the tears started to flow. The onlookers were cheering and clapping. I had not said a word yet. Then I popped the question. She whipped her tears and said, “Yes”! I nearly forgot to place the ring on her finger when a gentleman said, “Put the ring on her finger!” There we were the center of attention so I yelled out loud, “SHE SAID YES”!
How did you know they were “the one”? Vernesa: “It May sound so cliche, but the saying ‘you will just know he’s the one,’ was the case for me. Our first date was suppose to be a breakfast date, but it turned into a breakfast, lunch and dinner date. We never separated after our first date.”
Kesler: “I knew she was the one for me when she offered to walk to the store with me for my mother, and instead of walking all the way around she said, ‘no let’s just jump the fence.’ She was classy but down to earth.”
Describe your wedding attire. Our wedding attire could be described in two words, classic and glamorous. The shopping was really easy for us because we had a set style and vision for our wedding in mind prior to going shopping.
Wedding Party gifts: no wedding party just us two.
Favorite item on the menu: the wedding cake… lol
First dance song: Why I love you by Major
What is your best memory from your wedding? Vernesa: “My best memory was walking down the aisle and thinking we did it. We planned the entire wedding in less than 90 days. It was not an easy feat, but with the help of our planner and some amazing vendors we did it!”
Kesler: “The most memorable part of the wedding for me was standing with the pastor looking at my future wife next to her dad, doing her best to withhold her tears, but they came anyway. We cried together. She was so beautiful and it became official that she would be my wife forever.”
What is the best wedding advice you can give to engaged couples? The best advice we could offer is remember that it is YOUR wedding and you’re probably not going to be able to accommodate or please everyone, so be ok with this.
