This modern-meets-tropical Veuve Clicquot-inspired styled shoot in Quito, Ecuador, is a rich display of the country’s lush flora; however, at its core, it empowers women to be themselves on their wedding day.
For many brides, a wedding is considered one of the biggest moments of their life. It is a milestone event filled with love and celebration, often marked with several expected components. These typically include a white dress, elegant flowers, and luxurious decor.
Of course, this is the “traditional” lens that weddings are viewed from. However, as we know and represent here at MunaLuchi, there are endless variations of what a bride, couple, and wedding can look like. All of which are equally beautiful, unique, and deserving of celebration.
Serving Ecuador and the Galápagos Islands, Jamila + Juliette strives to push against the traditional images of “white weddings.” Their team enjoys creating events that are refreshing, bold, and playful.
For this styled shoot, Owner and Lead Planner, Assyah Al Fehaid, explains that their mission was “to show that luxury does not have to be boring.” She also emphasized the importance of being true to oneself, especially in the wedding planning process.
Women are empowered when they have the opportunity to be themselves.

In addition to showcasing an empowered, strong bride, the styled shoot also celebrates the 250-year special edition of Veuve Clicquot. The French champagne’s latest edition highlights Madame Clicquot’s belief “that each new day opens new paths to build a brighter future.”
The sense of liberation and joy embodied in the brand and its yellow packaging pairs beautifully with Jamila + Juliette’s modern concept. Effortlessly blending classical elements with luxury and fun, their styled shoot is a testament to fearless, non-traditional brides.

We were inspired by modern and empowered women and brides who are fearless and don’t want to wear white at their wedding; they want their wedding their way.

Inspiration…
We based the style of this production on Veuve Clicquot 250 years special edition. I wanted to show that eclecticism, modernity, and luxury go well together.
The concept was that modern brides can be creative, expressive, out of the norm, and still enjoy luxury and incorporate it into different aspects of their wedding day.
It is not one or the other. In other terms, be yourself. We wanted to mix local and international, elegance and contemporary.
Table Setting…
The table was beautifully contemporary, with colorful dishware, handmade bicolor napkins, modern glassware, black cutlery, and mini whisky bottles from the only Ecuadorian Whisky of the Andes, called Murco, as favors.
Stationery…
The menus had pictures representing different parts of Ecuador, one being with the virgin of Quito, known as the Panecillo. Those black and white prints gave another industrial touch to the tablescape.
Tropical Plants & Florals…
I used tropical plants that grows in altitude, with those big leaves and bright greens, as we wanted to show the luxurious nature of Ecuador is everywhere, even in the Andes.
Along those tropical plants, we had roses, dhalias, zinnia elegans, buddleia globose, marigold, rudbeckia among other flowers to remember the orange color of the Veuve Clicquot.
The model…
Kimmy is the beautiful face of the Ecuadorian woman, representing the stylish nontraditional bride, the one who decides what she and her partner want to do on their wedding day, and the one who is not letting society dictate how she and her partner will celebrate their love.
Ditching those traditions that you either don’t care about, or find antiquated, is empowerment for the beginning of a life together with your soulmate, as yourselves, and not hiding behind what society wants you to be.
Muna bling…
Decor details…
We had a backdrop made with wallpaper from holden wall coverings, that was blending with the ivy plants in the back of the venue and the huge tropical leaves.
Wedding Pets…
Ragnar the Doberman was so sweet. Brides are somewhat mostly seen as romantics, but some of us women aren’t totally like that. We can be both romantics and strong, and want that feeling to be represented on our wedding day. Some have big dogs, tattoos, and aren’t shy to show them. We wanted to have pets in this styled shoot, because to a lot of couples, they are like family.
