Tell us how you met and all about the proposal. Gaetan and I have known each other since we were teenagers, but we each had our own lives and did not pursue anything back then. However, I remember going to a concert a few years ago and I saw him perform. I instantly fell in love with his voice. We nicely said hi to each other and that same night he sent me a facebook request which I of course accepted. It all started when I slid in his DMs to wish him a happy birthday. Since then we haven’t stopped talking and I can not wait to spend the rest of my life with him!
The Proposal: His parents were in town to celebrate his stepmother’s birthday. Since they have not met my dad yet, we planned to go to dinner the night before they leave so we could formally introduce them to each other. Thinking that the dinner could possibly be awkward, I asked my mother to accompany us but unfortunately she had to go to work that day and told me she couldn’t make it. I then asked my sister in law to go with me but she told me that she had class that day. I remember texting my best friends telling them how much I was freaking out. They all tried to reassure me by giving me random subjects to discuss to break the ice. Little did I know they were all plotting against me lol. My now fiancé (I love saying that word) and I got ready and headed to the restaurant. The servers took us to our table all the way in the back. Imagine my shock when I saw my parents (including my mother and sister in law) and my best friends around the table clapping!!!! I didn’t know if I should cry or scream but I automatically knew that this was the day that I was going to say YES to my soul mate.
What did you do on your first date? On our first date we actually went to a concert where he was performing. He is a professional singer.
How has wedding planning been so far? So far so good! It’s been coming along slowly but surely. We have booked the venue, picked a florist, and picked a honeymoon destination.
Tell us what you’re looking forward to most on the wedding day. I am looking forward to walking down the aisle in white while my fiancé is looking at me. I feel like this is such an emotional moment in a wedding and of course us saying I DO
