After a day centered around you and your significant other, a bride would expect to see plenty of photos of just her in that amazing gown. However, according to our Coterie member, Bonike Olaoye of Face Affairs, the actual predicament most brides find themselves in is the complete opposite. This styled shoot is inspired by that all too familiar story and shows just how simple capturing your bridal day beauty can be.
This bridal look and shoot was inspired by every bride that remembers their wedding day as one big blur. Far too often, brides are making investments into their wedding day and with the whirlwind effect, sense of urgency, and pressure, very few get to relax and enjoy the day itself. I was unfortunately one of those brides who put over a year of energy and time into planning “the perfect day” and didn’t get to enjoy it until it was almost over. As beautiful and amazing as the wedding was, and as much as I loved my wedding photos, I realized one thing was lacking! Pictures of myself!! I scoured high and low my 800+ images and didn’t see any photos of just myself that I could enlarge, frame, and hang up in my house. This made me come up with the idea of a bridal portrait shoot. Loved the idea of coming back from honeymoon and getting all glammed up and having the opportunity to relive your day and capture some memories that will truly last forever! I created the makeup look for this shoot to inspire brides and bride-to-be.
