When I met Alexis at Shayla Hawkins Events, I knew that she would be the perfect person to help bring my idea to life.” The inspiration shoot is fierce, edgy and all kinds of chic. Creativity overload! From the studded cake and desserts, to the leather invitations from LePenn Stationery to the that stunning Hayley Paige gown, you are sure to find plenty of ideas from this inspiration shoot.

I also thought that Munaluchi would be the perfect platform to showcase the images, because they are leading the charge to promote beautiful brides of color in the media. This shoot was a dream come true! ” Comfort Witcher, Comfort Photography.
It’s something we all know; something we all believe and is engrained in hearts — Black Girls Rock! Because {SHE} Shayla Hawkins Events and Comfort Photography fully understands mantra, they realized it was time to put a edgy, fierce, rocker chic spin on your typical soft, whimsical bridal shoot and show the world just that. By collaborating with other incredible wedding vendors (see below), the “Black Girls Rock” style shoot took place in a turn-of-the-century warehouse in Downtown Columbus, OH that was the epitome of “raw”, untouched space with exposed brick, concrete, graffiti and glass. Every element incorporated in this shoot was to complement and also juxtapose the rawness of the backdrop from the linens, tableware and floral designs. Mixing of metals was quintessential, as well as using studs, spikes and bling. It was truly glamorous and edgy collectively. Finally, this style shoot wouldn’t be complete without a representative model rocking a Hayley Paige bridal gown and a leather jacket with studded bangles to accessorize. – Shayla Hawkins Events
