At the 2024 Met Gala, guests flaunted their fabulous outfits and donned some of the prettiest summer wedding-inspired looks.
Loads of gala attendees were spotted with custom looks inspired by the upcoming Metropolitan Museum of Art exhibition, Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion. And as a bonus, these ensembles were some of the best bridal-inspired looks from the night. There was no shortage of stars adorned in pinks, molded corsetry, delicate pastels, and super sexy minis which set the tone for the upcoming summer wedding season.
These looks were a whole bridal mood and we loved it!
Bubbly pinks …
Fashion onlookers and brides galore saw this hue of carnation pink floating into the gala straight from the runway. Details of these gowns included corseted bodices, delicate wisps of silk organza, coupled with inspirations of soft fragility. Pink has been having more than a moment and is sure to be seen on many more brides this wedding season due to its delicate yet fun hues that will make you want to pop open a pink bottle of prosecco.

A traditional view…
White had creative designers singing its praises as they took the ideations of timelessness and continuity within the color and its sense of rebirth and renewal like Daniel Lee did in his wedding day-ready ensemble for Jodie Turner-Smith. Hand-dyed florals, silk 3D floral appliques, and hand-embellished crystal daisies were some of the examples of craftsmanship that had us looking again at these works of art during the night. Sculpted aluminum created a curved bodice for Great Lee, not to mention floating pearl shoulder accents that made us feel like we were meeting a fairy queen with Sudha Reddy.

A symphony in black…
Our eyes were treated to a feast of looks in black which took us on a journey from sweet cupcake skirting draped with delicate bows, Dior’s iconic tailoring, to 3000 meters of black organza with Cardi B’s colossus of a dress from Windowsen. Ostrich feathers and silk taffeta made Juliana Canfield’s little black dress the perfect inspiration for the bride who wants to seamlessly transition from the formal ceremony to twirling on the dance floor.

Awakening the past…
While the future was fabricated into many looks the past was referenced in these gowns. Brides can take hope and inspiration from the Victorian themes that won the day with voluminous tulle crinolines under iridescent silk gazar, deconstructed Victorian bodices, floating hand-cut florals, and crimson corseting.

Drama-filled capes…
Dreamy opera capes are always the icing on the cake if you want more added drama and these capes were no exception. Fabrics like silk gazar, organic cotton, and of course yards and yards of tulle turned these gowns into explosions of color on the Met’s green carpet and will do the same for your unforgettable ceremony.

Leggy displays…
These ultra mini looks were the cutest things to see as Dior, Vivienne Westwood, and Chanel opted to present ‘less is more’ hemlines for our enjoyment. Wool and silk with beaded lace and statement sleeves took these minis to bridal and beyond. In case you haven’t noticed, sexy minis are having a moment and winning with brides whether your taste leans toward tailoring, a lacy boudoir statement dress, or just short and flirty, these trends are showing up and showing out even at the main ceremony.
