Sometimes mixing business with pleasure can lead to true love. Ayana and Savill met during a business meeting. Ayana was a fitness and aerobics director, and Savill was a sales manager for a fitness company. Savill was supposed to sell Ayana his company’s newest treadmill, but instead he sold her on the idea of love at first sight. They talked for 15 mins about the treadmill and spent the rest of their meeting discussing their similar interests.
For their first date, Ayana agreed to see an Atlanta Falcons game with Savill and a few of his family members. Talk about pressure; they had just met and Ayana was already meeting his family. Luckily, things went well and a week later they went on their first proper date alone.
The couple knew early on in their relationship that they wanted to get married, but they decided not to rush things. When the time was right, Savill pulled off a surprise proposal. After a round of golf, he casually sent a text to Ayana suggesting they go out to dinner later. He took her to an elegant restaurant. As always, they had a great conversation, and Ayana thought nothing of it until Savill decided to order desert. When the waiter returned with the desert menu, Savill turned to Ayana and said, “Before I order dessert I want to do something.” He got up, walked around to her side of the table and dropped to one knee. The women at the table next to them started cheering and before Ayana could reply to Savill’s proposal, the ladies responded, “Say yes girl!” After Ayana said, “Yes,” their friends and family came from around the corner of the restaurant to celebrate with them.
Ayana’s dream proposal turned into a dream wedding. The couple went for a contemporary feel for their spring nuptials. Pops of yellow created a bright and vibrant spring vibe throughout their décor, and black accents brought a touch of chic modernity. Wedding Style
My wedding theme was contemporary. My wedding dress was designed by Marissa. It was trumpet style lace dress with and beautiful open back detail. My favorite accessories were the diamond earrings and bracelet my husband gave me as a wedding gift.
Incorporation of Culture
Savill and my parents are who we use as examples for what a marriage based on Godly principles looks like. Collectively they have been married for close to 90 years. I wanted to include them in the ceremony. So before our recessional, our parents came up to the altar and Savill’s brother in law, James Parker led us in a unity prayer. It was a beautiful moment.
Most Memorable Moment
For the both of us, it was seeing each other as I walked down the aisle.
