Keep your eyes open in the university’s cafeteria, your future spouse could be within eyesight. He was for Simone, who made the first move after he caught her eye. Simone, a Post Production Specialist and Mitchell, a Technical Implementation Analyst recently spent some time in Downtown Huntsville, Alabama where it all began for their engagement session. The two have come a long way from their first date, a surprise picnic and have plenty to celebrate when they say, “I do” on May 22, 2016 in Denver, Colorado.
Tell us about how you met and all about the proposal!
Mitchell and I met in college. I happened to spot him walking through the cafeteria, and couldn’t help but wonder who he was. To this day I’m not sure how I figured out his name but I added him on Facebook, he messaged me and we have literally spoken to each other from that day on.
My fiancé knows I am big on family so he surprised me during a family dinner. He flew in the night before and hid at one of my family member’s houses. He came out, dropped down on one knee and asked me to be his forever. My grandma and father were there which was very important to me. It was a very special intimate moment.
The engagement session…
We had our engagement shoot in the college town we met in, Huntsville, Alabama. Mitchell’s best friend happens to be a talented photographer by the name of Reyhahn Granger so our shoot was very comfortable and easy going. Reyhahn photographed our first year relationship anniversary and our proposal day so it was really special for him to photograph our engagement shoot! We are a laid back but fun loving couple so we went for an urban feel in our shoot. We explored Downtown Huntsville and decided what location for backdrops right on the spot!
What did you do on your first date?
My fiance surprised me with a picnic in the park!
What’s your favorite thing to do as a couple?
We love Netflix binges and exploring our own neighborhood. Finding hidden gems (restaurants, thrift stores, museums) in any city we are in is exciting for us!
How has wedding planning been so far?
Wedding planning was easier than I initially planned for. I almost think I planned everything too far in ahead so now I have nothing to do, ha ha.
Tell us what you’re looking forward to most on the wedding day.
I am looking forward to that exact moment when I am standing at the end of the aisle and make eye contact with my future husband. I literally cannot wait for this moment!
