When you think about things that can ruin a first date, showing up late and making up an unbelievable excuse for why you kept your date waiting is definitely not the way to win someone’s affection. So when Jessica was left waiting for DeMarcus on their first date, she had made up her mind that he wasn’t the one for her. Eventually DeMarcus called telling her that he had been making repairs on his gutters and fell off the roof. Of course Jessica did not believe him, but when he actually showed up to her house with a swollen lip she decided to forgive him and proceed with the date. They had a wonderful time catching a movie and eating dinner, and years later DeMarcus proposed during a family trip to Tennessee (be sure to read their cute proposal story!)
Their engagement session was definitely “grown and sexy,” Jessica shares, “Our engagement session was a classy, sophisticated evening in which my fiancé and I were lost in love gazing into each other’s eyes.” This lovely couple is getting married in this summer in Alabama and we wish them all the best.

The Proposal
We were on a family trip in Gatlinburg, Tennessee with DeMarcus’s family. I noticed that DeMarcus had been gone for a while, but I didn’t think anything of it. All of sudden Chrisette Michelle’s song “A Couple of Forevers” starts playing softly in the cabin and DeMarcus walks down the cabin steps with his nephew who has on a shirt that said “My granny in heaven approves! Will you marry my uncle?” It was the sweetest thing to be surrounded by family members that were so excited to be a part of this new journey with us.
The Engagement Session
Our engagement session was a classy, sophisticated evening in which my fiancé and I were lost in love gazing into each other’s eyes. We enjoyed the city night life as we shared a cocktail and a few laughs together. Moments such as this we cherish and we are elated that it was captured in photographs that we will cherish for years to come.
Favorite Thing to Do as a Couple
We enjoy traveling and trying different restaurants.
