Destiny and Kevin first met at the age of nine years old. For Kevin it was love at first sight. They remained friends all throughout their youth, building a strong foundation of love and trust. After a lifetime of friendship and support, Kevin proposed to Destiny during her college senior year. Their beautiful memorial hall wedding in Pittsburgh took place on August 13th, 2016 before loving family and friends.

Tell us how you met and all about the proposal. Kevin and Destiny met when they were nine years old at a party Kevin’s sister threw! Let’s just say, it was love at first site for Kevin. Though Destiny told Kevin she was not allowed to date until after she graduated high school, the two of them were close friends while growing up. During Destiny’s senior year of college, Kevin’ proposed to Destiny in front of a group of their friends and family!
What was wedding shopping like for you? Destiny had a vision in her mind of how she wanted to look for her wedding day. After seeing Charlize Theron in a Christian Dior J’adore perfume commercial, she knew this sleek, sophisticated and classy look was her inspiration. Having such a firm vision proved finding ‘the one’ dress a challenge for Destiny and she admits that she really didn’t enjoy the shopping process! She landed on a Mori Lee mermaid style that showcased her lovely figure and took extra special time selecting jewelry that made her look pop! Her reception dress was a bridesmaid dress that allowed her to relax and have fun through the night.
Bridesmaids: Destiny gave her ladies jewelry, make-up and heel protectors for their shoes since the ceremony was outdoors!
Favorite item on the menu: For Kevin, the shrimp and grits! For Destiny, the yummy cake

What is your best memory from your wedding? “Seeing my wife walk down the aisle.” ~Kevin
