Who would ever think that a mistaken Facebook friend request would lead to happily ever after? Well this was the case for Jasmine and Russell. The pair got to know one another via the mistaken friend request and chatted for a few years before meeting and further exploring their feelings. Once the two connected in-person – it was love at first “sight”. “We obviously really liked each other because within a year we were engaged” shares Jasmine.
The proposal, which was completely unexpected, happened at home. As she casually sat, watching television, Jasmine was greeted by a procession of Russell, her “mum” and their dog, Clouseau. “When Clouseau made it round to me he has a giant bow around his neck with an engagement ring attached. Then Russell got down and asked me to marry him” says Jasmine.
The beautiful pair swapped nuptials at the picturesque, Chateau de Varennes in Sauveterre, France. Their wedding, which featured crisp and clean decor, was outfitted with pops of lavender florals throughout, taking their luxe venue to dreamy new heights. Describe your wedding dress! What was wedding shopping like for you?
My wedding dress was a romantic fairytale dress from Sottero and Midgley. It was a strapless mermaid gown with a train. The fabric was tulle and lace. Wedding shopping was enjoyable but stressful at the same time. It was fun seeing all of the beautiful things that you could incorporate into your wedding. The stressful part was trying to tie everything together and stick to a theme.

What is your best memory from your wedding?
My best memory from the wedding was walking down the isle taking in the beautiful setting and seeing all of my plans come together. Then as I got closer seeing Russell’s face and the tears in his eyes. It was extremely emotional.
What is the best wedding advice you can give to engaged couples?
The advice I would give to anyone that is planning on getting married is do what is best for you. Don’t spend you whole time trying to make everyone else happy. You will only have this experience once so make the wedding about you and your soon to be husband.
