Meet Our New Floral Contributor – Janie from The Bride’s Cafe!

Hi Everyone…I’m Janie, Editor at The Bride’s Café wedding blog and owner and floral designer at JMFlora Design. I’m so excited to be the Floral Contributor at Munaluchi.  I’ve been a fan of Munaluchi from day one and to be a part of their beautiful site is truly humbling. We are going to have so much fun and share lots of lovely floral inspiration with you, so get ready to be inspired!!

On my first visit, I want to share some beautiful (and inexpensive) blooms from the local Farmer’s Market. If you are a DIY kind of girl and would like to design the bouquets and centerpieces on your big day or if you would like to display pretty blooms in your home or office, you definitely need to make a trip to your local Farmer’s Market.

My Saturday morning trip was a total success….I love summer blooms and I came away with bundles of jeweled toned zinnias, purple lisianthus, and vibrant shades of red coxscomb. The flowers cost $13.00 per bundle and there were 10-15 stems in each bundle….an absolutely great deal for gorgeous blooms!

Once you get your blooms home, re-cut the stems at an angle with a pair of clippers and make certain that you remove any excess foliage and leaves. Place the blooms in a clean container of fresh water until you are ready to arrange them and if you are making floral arrangements for your home, be certain to change the water every few days to prolong the life of the arrangement!

Here are the designs that I made with all the pretty blooms. I used a variety of containers around my home and even a few water glasses. Have fun designing….xoxo

Thanks to Katelyn James for the stunning photos!
