Paris Fashion Week Day 7 Review: Chanel, Valentino and Alexander McQueen
Day 7 of Paris Fashion Week showcased some of the best surprising style moments thanks to Chanel, Valentino and Alexander McQueen.
Karl Lagerfeld had BIG on his mind when he presented the latest Chanel collection. From the decadent, oversize pearl necklaces to the equally huge hula hoop beach bag, Chanel seemed to make BIG style accessory trends work.
Valentino’s creative design duo Maria Grazia Chiuri and Pierpaolo Piccioli were inspired by their Roman heritage when they designed their latest womenswear collection.
Beekeeper chic style was what Alexander McQueen had for their Spring 2013 collection and it worked flawlessly.
“The collection is a study of femininity. We looked at erotica. Vargas girls, cages, corsets and crinolines and the idealisation of the female form. Nothing is set in a particular period. It’s about sensuality and skin but not nudity. We also wanted to express lightness, for the clothes almost to hover over the women who wear them.” Sarah Burton
