Special Wedding Details ….. “Erica and Jamal chose her grandmother’s church as the site for their exchange of vows, and the Westin Richmond for the party afterwards. Wearing a dress from Priscilla of Boston, Erica walked down the aisle with a feeling in her stomach that confirmed she had made the right decision. Her brother gave her away, and her wedding day was the first time she had ever seen him cry. To Erica, she will forever remember how she felt being surrounded by the two men she loves most in the world. The couple wanted to reflect a simple style at their wedding, believing that less is more. They wanted flowers with a lot of color in various sizes, so they combined both large and small centerpieces which were customized by their florist who put his own touches on the design. As a guest favor, Erica and Jamal chose “Ray-Ban” style plastic glasses personalized with the wedding date and their names. Just about every guest wore them at some point during the party, and many still wear them to this day! Among Erica’s favorite details was the professional lighting in the room …. She also loved that her bridesmaid dresses flattered all of the girls, regardless of their shape and size; and, of course, how handsome Jamal was in his tuxedo.”

Advice for Future Brides ….. “The couple’s advice to future brides would be to splurge on photography. Erica believes that the money was well spent, and mentions that the most common comment she has heard since the wedding is that “our photographer made us look like we belonged in a magazine”. Both bride and groom are deeply pleased at how the images turned out and that they have beautiful memories to last a lifetime.”
