She’s from Harlem, He’s from Detroit. Despite the long distance, they have managed to keep a close relationship. Tanya and Detavio’s beautiful engagement session was photographed by one of our preferred vendors, Christopher Duggan, at New York’s Grand Central Station. This was the perfect location for them being that they met in NYC, and the train station represents the constant travel back and forth in their relationship. “I love that Tanya loves the Lord. This is a priority for me. She has
proven time and time again that she is willing to put God’s word
first, which makes me feel like there is nothing we cant conquer
because I have a similar heart.” – Detavio
“I love that Detavio is a Christian and loves God above all things. It
is probably the most important constant in our relationship, and also
the only commonality. Apart from our faith Detavio and I are complete
opposites. He is a clear extrovert and I am undeniably an introvert.
This helps to keep things interesting as I can never guess what he
will do or say, as usually it is something I wouldn’t have done in a

Wedding Advice for Current Brides:
“My advice would be to get as much help as possible. I think it’s
really great to have as many people as possible involved in your big
day for a couple of reasons. One is that planning a wedding is a big
and important task that you should not undertake all by yourself.
There are so many details that can be all-consuming that you won’t
have time to enjoy your engagement. Two: I think that involving a lot
of people helps to let friends and family know that they are important
and loved by you even as you embark upon this new phase in life.” – Tanya
