When and how did you get started in your business?  

I started designing wedding garters in 2010 for a few friends ready-to-wed. As I designed their garters, I realized that there was a huge opportunity to revolutionize the design of the wedding garter. I mean, why were all of the wedding garters I had seen so out dated, cheap and tacky? It seemed to me that the design of the wedding garter had froze somewhere right around 1978. For this reason, I felt a burning desire to create a modern, sleek and irresistibly pretty wedding garter for today’s bride. 

What did you do before starting your company?  

I worked in marketing/sales at Colorado Ballet. 

What are some of your best selling items?

The Vienna garter, the Aurora garter, all five of our “luxe” toss garter options, our wedding keepsake boxes and our various custom wedding garter options.

Anything else you’d like our readers to know?  

La Gartier has been worn by multiple celebrities including Real Housewives of Atlanta star Kandi Burruss, Jamie Lynn Spears and Katherine Webb to name just a few.

What’s in your handbag right now?

sunglasses, the book “The Poisonwood Bible” by Barbara Kingsolver, Bubblemint gum, sunglasses, my favorite lipstick from Mac called “Angel”, my wallet, Japanese hand-dye silk ribbon and an apple. 

iphone, blackberry or android?

Android although I am thinking of switching to iPhone. I love apple products. 

If you could travel to any location right now, where would it be?  

Brazil. I studied there when I was in my early twenties and I want to go back. 

Favorite thing to do?

Design gorgeous wedding garters for my brides, practice bikram yoga, go on long walks with my dog Izzy, ride horses and read.
